About Jesse Johnson

In 2011 Chief Johnson (the CEO of UTI) made the decision to teach full time and became a National Rifle Association Range Safety Officer, Home Family Defense Instructor, Pistol, Rifle and Shotgun Instructor.UTI was named based on the envelopment and COVERING of ALL firearm safety and tactics, from basic classes to the most advanced military operations training with firearms.

Chief Johnson has taught firearms and tactics in law enforcement for Washington, Idaho, Montana and Colorado. He has also taught US Armed forces in various disciplines. Chief Johnson has been instrumental in serving the US Army as an OP FOR (opposition force) operative for several years to help teach active duty soldiers how to stay alive in combat. He has earned commendations for this. Chief Johnson taught special tactics for emergency elements in Washington, Montana and private contracting agencies. Chief Johnson has trained over a thousand officers and operators in the last 18 years and has spent the last 24 years of his life in service to his Country.

Umbrella Tactics Instructors all come from Law Enforcement and/or Military background. We are trained in POST qualifications and up to State tactics and safety standards. We pool additional instructors from local agencies and military posts.
